FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO YOU FREEZE DRY YOUR RAW DOG FOOD?
The process of turning our Fido Fuels Raw Beef Dog Food into freeze-dried raw food begins with our high-quality beef ingredients. These ingredients are carefully prepared and blended to create a balanced and nutrient-rich raw dog food. Once the raw blend is ready, it undergoes the freeze-drying process, which is a method of preservation that removes moisture while retaining the natural nutrients, flavors, and textures of the raw food.
Freeze-drying involves freezing the raw dog food at very low temperatures, typically around -40°F (-40°C). Once frozen, the food is placed in a vacuum chamber, where the pressure is lowered, causing the ice in the food to sublimate directly from a solid state into vapor, bypassing the liquid phase. This process effectively removes nearly all the moisture from the food without the need for high temperatures, which can degrade the nutritional content. The result is a lightweight, shelf-stable product that retains the essential nutrients and natural flavors of raw dog food, making it a convenient and long-lasting option for pet owners.
SHOULD I STILL WASH MY HANDS AND DOG’S BOWL AFTER FEEDING FREEZE-DRIED FOOD?
Yes, since our freeze-dried food is was frozen in raw form, we recommend practicing the same hygiene as you would with handling raw meat. After handling, wash hands thoroughly and sanitize any surfaces that the freeze-dried food may have touched, including your dog’s bowl after feeding.
